The Easy Way to Get Your Birth CHart
Okay. So. There are hundreds of free birth charts generators out there. But two are often hailed as The Best Ones.
01. Astro.com is commonly the top recommendation among professional astrologers for good reason…it's free, powerful, accurate. But it can be overwhelming for beginners.
👉🏻 02. I recommended starting with Astro-seek.com instead. Still free and accurate, but I'm going to show you a little beginner-friendly trick to make the chart less overwhelming if you’re new to all of this!
Instructions
Step One
You'll need your birthday, birth location, and birth time. And not like, “my mom thinks I was born around noon,” but your actual birth time on your birth certificate, down to the minute. If you don't have your exact birth time, you can still determine most of the planet placements, but you won't be able to access your Rising Sign or house placements.
Step Two
Go to this website and enter your birth information. Once you hit Calculate Chart, shit’s going to get intense, but hang with me…
The Scary Wheel
Now, you pull up your birth chart, it’s going to look something like this (this is mine)…
Now, professional astrologers will insist you need to reference this full circle to properly read your chart. They're right … assuming you actually know how to read this wheel!
But if you’re new, don’t let anyone shame you for taking it one step at a time and starting with a less overwhelming view of your chart!
Here’s how…
The List View
See that graphic below?
Still my birth chart!
It's just a simplified, "plain English" explanation of that scary wheel above. It's not the complete picture, but it's a perfectly respectable starting point for learning your Mars sign, what house your moon is in, etc.
Note: ASC at the bottom of the list stands for Ascendant, which is just another term for the all important Rising Sign. So I’m a Cancer Rising. If you’re says ASC in Aquarius, you’re an Aquarius Rising.
How to Access Your List View
From that page with the scary wheel, you’re going to want to scroll down way down on the page, and look for that orange bar that says AI-ChatGPT …
Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean that you have to use it for ChatGPT, that’s just the heading to look out for.
Next Steps
Past your list into your favorite notes app, a Google doc, whatever, so that you can easily reference in the future. It even has an easy Copy button for you!
But What Does It All Mean?!
I know that even in a list view, there’s a lot of information there that means nothing if you’re a beginner!
I recommend starting with just one placement. Maybe your sun, since you already know that. You can ignore the degrees, but for example in my chart above, I’d begin by Googling “Sun in Aries in 10th House” … or “Moon in Taurus in 11th House.”
A ton of results will come up! And of course, I have plenty of resources here on this site as well. I love to talk about this stuff!
