Author Note
I always wanted to write a road-trip romance, so … I did. I wrote this as a new adult book, meaning the characters are fairly young, and act like it.
Picture yourself and your first teenage heartbreak … that’s what this book is channeling :)
Readers who’ve enjoyed my other books, featuring older characters and more mature characters may find Lucy and Reece’s emotional turmoil frustrating, but personally I’ll never get tried of emotional fights in the rain…
I don’t often write “fated love” romance, but I knew from the very beginning that I was writing about two soulmates and a fairy-tale kind of love.
USA TODAY Bestseller
“Road trip romance! Two star-crossed lovers trapped in a car with sparks flying all over the place. Love Story is another fantastic read by Lauren Layne. What a treat! From the sexy banter to the sweet, heart-tugging moments, Lauren steams up the pages with characters that you fall in love with.”

A Little Excerpt
I’m not one for dancing, but this I can handle.
This slow swaying is little more than a grind, and though I don’t know a lick of Spanish, the gist of the song is clear. It’s a promise of hot sweaty nights, of my hands on her skin, my mouth on her mouth…
I’ve pulled her closer now, a little unnerved by how right it feels that after all this time we move together so well.
on Book Covers
I’ve made the unusual decision not to show the official book covers on my official author website for a variety of reasons:
Most of my books have multiple cover versions depending on language/country; the US English version is only one of many.
Several of my cover designs were spot-on when they released, but are now quite dated even though the love stories within are timeless.
I have an unwavering love for neutral colors, and elegantly minimalist design. The current rom-com cover trend towards candy colored cartoons is not my jam.
My website is my chance to present my work my way.
