Some Details

Vibe

I don’t do small town romance very often, but this is one of them! Inspired by Gilmore Girls and the Hallmark movies in which the “woman from the big city” finds herself charmed by small town life.

Heat Level

This is a steamy romance novel with explicit sex scenes and spicy language.

POV

This book is written in alternating third person POV.

Tone

Classics contemporary romance. If you grew up reading small town romance novels in mass market paperback you picked up at at the grocery store, this has that energy.

Author Note

This is not one of my bestselling series. At all. I don’t know if it’s because the title of the series is clunky (“I Do I Don’t” was publisher choice). Or because the covers are stock photo that leave nothing to the imagination (and look nothing like the characters?)

Or, if my decision to write books that brush up against a reality tv show just didn’t click. I console myself with knowing that Apple Books named this a best book of the year, even if readers never glommed.

It doesn’t stop me from loving this story. It’s got everything I love…quiet moments, too-long eye contact, and meddling secondary characters who know that Jordan and Luke are falling in love and have absolutely no problem meddling.

Also, Luke is unabashedly based on Luke from Gilmore Girls. I picture him exactly like that, except I made him a firefighter.

A Little Excerpt

She turned back, gestured between the two booths. “You need to kiss the girl, Luke. The entire town knows it.”

He ground his teeth to keep from telling Vicky that he had kissed the girl.

Thoroughly.

Wanted to do it again.

Badly.

on Book Covers

I’ve made the unusual decision not to show the official book covers on my official author website for a variety of reasons:

  • Most of my books have multiple cover versions depending on language/country; the US English version is only one of many.

  • Several of my cover designs were spot-on when they released, but are now quite dated even though the love stories within are timeless.

  • I have an unwavering love for neutral colors, and elegantly minimalist design. The current rom-com cover trend towards candy colored cartoons is not my jam.

My website is my chance to present my work my way.
